Rick “Wind” Herrera is an award-winning actor, writer and storyteller from Brooklyn, New York.
Now living in Arizona, Rick continues to write and perform content that blends humor, honesty, and vulnerability. In 2015, his one-man play, “The Naked Truth,” won the award for “Best one-man play performance” at the competitive 10th Annual One Festival in New York City.
He is also a 2017 “Brio” award winner (Bronx Recognizes Its Own) which recognized his work as an artist. Also, in 2017 his show "The Naked Truth" was selected in the HBO Latino Film Festival.
Ricks second one-man play, “Still Naked” premiered in 2017 at "LATEA Theater" and received rave reviews. In 2018 he created and performed an intimate concert called "F.E.A.R" based on original music that he wrote. That same year he received an award from the "American Filmatic" for his performance in his one-man play "The Naked Truth".
In 2019 Rick co-created and released a podcast with his wife called "The Wind and Cloud Podcast" which interviews all types of guests of different professions.
Rick found additional success in 2022 with the creation of a fatherhood web-series called “DAD-rahpy” co-created with his wife. They were blessed to receive awards from numerous festivals they were accepted into.
In 2025 Rick performed in the Tucson Fringe Festival and won the “Beyond Borderlands” award for his solo show called “Nana”.
“Nana” is a solo show and love letter dedicated to his sister where he talks about their connection and upbringing, as he finds peace in her unexpected passing.
